TENET: Christopher Nolan is back with yet another mind-wrecking sci-fi blockbuster “TENET” starring Robert Pattinson, John David Washington, Elizabeth Debicki, Dimple Kapadia, Michael Caine, and Kenneth Branagh.
Release Date: 4 December 2020 (INDIA)
Rotten Tomatoes: 71%
TENET is also coming out on DVD and Blu ray on 14th December in the UK and on the 16th in Australia.
Nolan’s latest sci-fi is perplexing enough to leave the audience dumbfounded to think if they actually missed out on something in the movie. The enigmatic sci-fi action thriller talks about the manipulation of time, not Time Travel but, INVERSION. yes, Inversion of time.
The movie finally hit Indian theatres and a part of the movie was shot in India, in areas like Breach Candy Hospital, Cafe Mondegar, Colaba Causeway, Colaba Market, Gateway of India, Grant Road, Royal Bombay Yacht Club, and the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. It is also starring Dimple Kapadia who plays the role of Priya, an Indian arms dealer.
During an interview, Kapadia said, “I think doing Tenet has really changed my life. I was always a reluctant actor, I kept putting things off and not doing them, but TENET has changed that for me. I’m raring to go now. I want to do a lot of work now, good work.”
As the name of the movie suggests “Tenet” means “belief”, the protagonist has to believe in what he’s doing and what he’s about to do. It’s a quite complex story and some viewers might miss out on things the first time, but you can’t not give it another go because it’s that captivating.
A big, brashly beautiful, grandiosely enjoyable one that will provide succor to audiences long-starved for escapist spectacle on this beefy, made-for-Imax scale -VARIETY
Robert Pattinson and John David Washington in a still from TENET.
The movie is Nolan’s eleventh feature film and it created a major buzz despite the global pandemic. It seems like detailed yet thin webwork of his previous works. It follows the story of a CIA agent, played by John David Washington, referred to as The Protagonist in the film.
TENET: WHAT IS INVERSION?
As a matter of fact, the universe moves forward in time but what if something makes you invert time?
The protagonist works with Neil, played by Robert Pattinson, to search for the sources from which erupts the concept of Inversion. The movie is threaded with inverted action scenes which in itself is a first for audiences all around the world.
The movie is backed up by a huge budget and spectacular cinematography. It definitely isn’t a one time watch. Nolan took a step ahead in the sci-fi genre with TENET. Some say that TENET is a sequel to Nolan’s previous hit INCEPTION, but John David Washington himself stated that the two films are somewhat related.
